Let's Get Physical!


Our Stretch & Technique course is in full swing this year after expanding the program based on it's success in 2014. Each Tuesday in term two, girls have the option of coming to an extra Physie class - but with a twist! We do no syllabus on a Tuesday - instead, we stretch hard, practice our skills and march our hearts out. Each week we have a different skills focus, ranging from positions, to leg work and competition ettiquette.

Stretch & Technique for 2015 is split into a junior (7-8s and 9-12s) and senior (teenagers, seniors and ladies) class, both running for an hour each. Our Junior class has a special stretch incentive with graded stretch groups - gold, silver and bronze. In only 4 weeks of Stretch and Technique this year, we have had 3 juniors progress from silver to gold group by completing our four focus stretches: left leg split, right leg split, body on legs and stomach on floor at stradle.

The Senior class is a bit more relaxed and focuses moreso on strength and execution of specific techniques. The Senior group have also been working on balancing techniques using the infamous balance board!

Some of our Senior members have commented on the physical benefits they have already noticed:
